Endeavor Entrepreneur Spotlight: Aisha Pandor, CEO and Co-Founder of SweepSouth, selected at the Sofia, Bulgaria ISP in October 2017

On 25 October 2017, Endeavor selected 25 entrepreneurs leading 16 companies from 11 countries at the 75th International Selection Panel (ISP) held October 23-25, 2017, in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Two companies, led by three extraordinary entrepreneurs were selected from the South Africa. Aisha Pandor and Alen Ribic, co-founders of SweepSouth were selected as Endeavor Entrepreneurs. SweepSouth is South Africa’s first online platform for booking, managing and paying for home cleaning as it suits you. The platform provides the user easy and convenient access to home cleaning at the tap of a button. Users can access the platform from their laptop, phone or tablet to get fast, convenient and reliable cleaners providing dignified work at decent rates. Upon their arrival back into the country, we asked CEO, Aisha to shed some light on her ISP experience to date…

Endeavor South Africa (ESA): How did you find out about Endeavor?

Aisha Pandor (AP): A local Endeavor associate was one of our early customers and after using our platform a few times, requested to meet with us, and told us about Endeavor's local and global network and support of high impact entrepreneurs.

ESA: Comment on your journey leading up to the ISP.

AP: During the journey leading up to the ISP, we felt nervous, excited, but well-prepared. It was difficult to balance preparing the required materials with all of the other exciting projects we're working on with the business, but we knew the effort would be worth it.

ESA: What other value have you received from Endeavor in the process, and how did it equip you for the ISP?

AP: We received great feedback on thinking about and planning our international expansion, which also came out at the ISP. It was really useful to have thought of these questions beforehand.

ESA: Comment on your experience of the ISP, and the value you received.

AP: The ISP was a fantastic experience where we got to benchmark ourselves against international entrepreneurs, meet and get advice from well-established and accomplished entrepreneurs and businesspeople (in the form of the panellists), and network with likeminded people from other countries and industries.

ESA: Why are you proud to be an Endeavor entrepreneur?

AP: We're proud to be Endeavor entrepreneurs knowing how tough the vetting and selection is (which brings prestige to the network), and particularly because of the focus on high-impact business. There's a value alignment and personality fit that we totally love.

ESA: What are you most looking forward to on your Endeavor journey?

AP: We're looking forward to the support we'll receive as we scale our business internationally, and also to the opportunity to serve as inspiration and provide support and mentorship to other promising South African entrepreneurs.

ESA: What’s in store for SweepSouth for the next 5 years?

AP: Over the next 5 years, SweepSouth will scale further north into Africa as well as into South East Asia and South America, and will be the biggest home services provider in all three regions. We will be a full home services platform and will cater for a multitude of homecare needs. We will also be partnering with other big brands that share our vision, and will have established ourselves as a trusted brand in millions of homes.

ESA: Do you have any sound advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

AP: Work on a project you're passionate about and can easily see yourself doing for at least 10 years, find an excellent partner that complements your personality and skill-set, when networking or asking for help, also look at what you can contribute, and lastly, focus on execution. Done is better than perfect.

ESA: On a personal note, what is your motto?

AP: Our motto is to move quickly and embrace change, and to treat everyone who we interact with in the way we'd wish to be treated.

Endeavor will host the year’s next and final ISP in Miami, 11-13 December.
