People are often described as an organisation’s most important asset. However, ensuring staff are well-trained across professional development areas can be challenging, time-consuming, and expensive. Recognising the difficulty many organisations face in curating training content, GO1 has set out to make employee training as simple as clicking a button. GO1 has aggregated one of the largest online marketplaces for professional learning with 350,000+ ready-made courses and content to choose from. Established as a global business from the start, with operations in six countries and clients in over 20.

The founding of GO1 can be traced to the halls of Oxford University, where its founders met as Rhodes Scholars. Melvyn (26), Ugandan by origin and born in South Africa, grew up in a family with a deep-rooted appreciation for education. He worked hard to win a full scholarship to the University of Cape Town, where he studied Actuarial Science. Eager to apply his business learning and solve companies’ most complex challenges, Melvyn started a consulting business during college to advise SMEs on their growth strategies. Post-graduation, he became Boston Consulting Group’s first associate in sub-Saharan Africa. 6,500 miles away in Australia, Andrew (27) was busy winning, year after year, in a statewide web design competition, until he was asked to stop entering and join the judging panel. That same year, he decided to turn his hobby into a business, setting up a web development agency that stoked his entrepreneurial instinct. Andrew went on to pursue a PhD in Business Strategy from the University of Queensland. There, he developed an interest in education, which he followed all the way to Oxford, where he met Melvyn in the Master’s program in Education.

GO1 serves as the “Expedia” for corporate training by allowing organizations to easily search, view, and book courses (both online and in-person) from GO1’s marketplace of 350,000 learning items, which seamlessly integrate with an organisation’s existing LMS. Organisations can also create their own digital training content and set up a branded training portal leveraging GO1’s in-house LMS.
